Peter Woodward has claimed victory at the inaugural Sealink Stradbroke Ferries Legends Pro-Am.
With professional golf returning to the North Stradbroke Island Golf Club for the first time in 16 years, the Ladbrokes Legends Tour players were eager to tee it up in the picturesque location.
Woodward fired 4-under 67 to claim the title by one shot from Perry Parker. His round was highlighted by six birdies and counterbalanced by two bogeys.
“The golf course really requires some local knowledge. I think we will play the course a lot differently next time around,” said Woodward.
Singing the praises of the location and tournament, Woodward is sure to return to defend his title.
“I have never been here before and the entire day has been brilliant. From the ferry ride over to the island, the spectacular views in the clubhouse, the welcome to country from the local indigenous community and the wonderful hospitality, all of us professionals have really enjoyed our time on North Stradbroke Island,” added Woodward.
“There is a really community feel over here at North Straddie and it is not hard to see that the golf course is a great benefit to the community.”
The next stop on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour is Mt Warren Park Golf Club on Thursday before the QLD Senior PGA Championship at Wynnum Golf Club starts on Monday.

“I’ve been playing really consistent golf lately and today was no different," said Power.
“I hit a lot of greens in regulation which gave me many opportunities for birdie; although I only made the one birdie I was happy to record a bogey free round."
Tim Elliott got off to a solid start recorded three birdies on the opening nine, two bogeys on the back nine threatened to derail his round however it was good enough in the end.
“This is my first win in Queensland for the year," said Elliott.
"The course was in fantastic condition today and presented beautifully for the event. It was a pleasure to play and credit must go to all the staff of the Brisbane Golf Club."
The next stop on the Ladbrokes Legends Tour will be North Stradbroke Island for The Straddie Legends Pro-Am Wednesday 15 August 2018.
