The Ricky Stuart Foundation hosted its annual Celebrity Pro-Am at the beautiful Royal Canberra Golf Club on Monday.
34 Professionals teed it up alongside a great field of celebrities and sponsors.
Included in the field this year was one of the world’s great players in Dame Laura Davies.
“This event is very important to raise money and awareness, the Ricky Stuart Foundation is touching so many lives and the PGA of Australia feels very privileged to be involved,” said Peter Welden NSW/ACT PGA Tournament Coordinator.
Alex Edge blew away the field and lit up the Royal Canberra layout, shooting the lowest score in the events history with a round of 8-under 64 including eight birdies and an eagle.
Edge played last week in the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship presented by Wippells Volkswagen and will compete in this week’s Horizon Golf New Zealand PGA Championship.
“I love playing this event, it’s one of the best on our schedule. Even though it meant I had to fly down from Queensland this morning and fly out to New Zealand tomorrow morning I just couldn’t miss it,” said Edge.
Finishing runner up was Matthew Giles at 3-under 69.
Local Professional Jake Nagle and ADT Tour winner in 2017 Martin Dive finished tied for third at 2-under 70.
Rounding out the top five was Adam Demidjuk with 1-under 71.
