Former Queensland PGA Championship winner Anthony Summers has won the Elanora Legends Pro-Am in his first Ladbrokes Legends Tour event alongside Tim Elliott and John Wade.
Summers gave the 42-player field a look into what he’ll bring to the Tour in the coming years with a competitive round of 4-under 68.
“As the baby of the field I’ve felt very welcome by the Legends Tour players and I couldn’t have got off to a better start than this,” Summers said.
“It’s great to get the win alongside these guys. I love this golf course, it’s a hidden gem and today the conditions were as good as I’ve ever seen.”
Summers, Elliott and Wade made the most of perfect playing conditions and a well prepared Elanora Country Club layout in the morning’s shotgun start.
Darren Rix again appeared at the pointy end of the leaderboard to claim a fourth-place finish at 3-under the card.
John Onions rounded out the top five with a round of 2-under 70 ahead of Ladbrokes Legends Tour Order of Merit leader Michael Harwood in sixth alongside Ben Jackson and Glenn Joyner.
The Ladbrokes Legends Tour moves to The Australian Golf Club on Tuesday for The Australian Golf Club Legends Pro-Am.
