Inclement weather has hampered the third round of the PGA Championship, with play suspended for the day at Baltusrol Golf Club.

The third round was suspended at 2:14pm local time and ultimately for the day at 6:00pm.

10 Professionals, including defending champion Jason Day, are yet to tee off with play set to resume at 7:00am local time on Sunday morning.

Play was suspended just 30 minutes before Day’s 2:45pm tee time, with the Australian having to bide his time in the clubhouse in the hope that conditions would improve.

"I’m hoping we can get some sort of golf in today; get this championship in and hopefully the weather just passes," Day said.

"It would be nice for players and fans to be able to play the rest of the round out and get done by Sunday. If not, I’ll stay here as long as I can," Day added.

Marc Leishman, who was gearing up to putt in on 17 as the siren sounded, was visibly frustrated at the interruption with only one hole remaining to play and walked off course on 3-under.

Adam Scott was through his first four holes on the front-9, with the former Masters champion walking off course with a birdie and a bogey for an even round so far.

Fellow Queenslander, John Senden, is through six holes and currently on 1-under the card for the round.

Marcus Fraser and Scott Hend are both on the back-9. Fraser is through 13 holes and 1-under the card for the round, while Hend is through 10 holes and even for the day.
 
Aaron Baddeley and Matt Jones were the only Aussies out early enough to miss the delays. Baddeley fired 1-over 71, while Jones shot an even round 70.
