Sinnott & Rumford show positive signs in Africa

Rookie Professional Todd Sinnott has made his first European Tour cut while veteran Brett Rumford showed a turnaround in form at the Africa Open at the weekend.

"BrettSinnott, who has played the last two weeks on sponsor
invitations, overcame a shaky first round 75 to make the cut by a shot and
while he struggled in round three posted an under par final round to finish
4-under for the week and T54.

While 20 shots behind runaway winner Trevor Fisher Jr it was
an important week for Sinnott who missed the cut by two shots in his European Tour
debut at last week’s Joburg Open.

For Rumford it was also an encouraging week after he too,
found the going tough in the opening round.

The West Australian hit back from an opening 74 with three
sub par rounds and while finishing T38 won’t satisfy his expectations it shows
signs of life in a game which has been off the rails for more than a year.

It was Rumford’s third cut made in five starts this season
and equals his best previous 2015 finish which came at the Qatar Masters in
January.
