While unlikely to pursue a full schedule in Japan, the super talented 25-year-old will play elected events in Japan and with no other events to play this week has chosen to tee up.
It’s been a whirlwind few months for the former standout amateur who won his Asian Tour card after sharing top spot on the Qualifying School leaderboard with fellow Australian Richard green.
Green won the play-off but Sinnott took a lot of confidence form that performance and within two weeks had parlayed it into his maiden professional title.
While sure to be a popular figure with fans in Japan thanks to his enormously powerful game, Sinnott’s long term goal is the PGA TOUR and learning to play varying styles of golf and courses will be crucial to developing his game.
Sinnott is one of nine Australasians in this week’s field including 2015 champion Michael Hendry and 2012 winner Brendan Jones.
Hendry comes into the event off a win at the ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open and with his confidence no doubt high while Jones continues his comeback from almost two years of disruption caused by injury.
Tour regulars Matt Griffin, Brad Kennedy, Adam Bland, Kurt Barnes and Won Joon Lee are all in the field while Japan Tour rookie David Bransdon tees up on Japanese soil for the first time.
