Scott determined to end on high note

Last year Adam Scott returned to the Gold Coast as the Masters Champion, this year he returns as the Australian PGA Championship defending champion.

""The 2013 season was a dream for Scott who brought the coveted Green Jacket home to Tour Australia, in the process picking up wins at the Australian PGA Championship and Australian Masters followed by a runner-up at the Australian Open.

This year, whilst showing glimpses of brilliance, he is yet to secure a win on home soil but is hoping to turn that all around at RACV Royal Pines Resort.

"I’m really looking forward to this week," said Scott.

"Obviously it’s kind of a home game for me, so it’s a win/win."

"I haven’t achieved exactly what I wanted the last couple of starts down here in Australia, it would be nice to finish the year off with a win and defend the title."

Scott may not have been impressed with his performances to date but he has recorded a tied 2nd at the BetEasy Master and 5th at the Emirates Australian Open despite shooting over-par opening rounds.

"I’ve played well but I’ve got off to such poor starts," added Scott.

"I’d like to change that this week and get off to a good start, but when you’re off to a slow start, the pressure’s on."

"I did a good job of getting myself back in the mix but wasn’t able to finish them off."

"So it would be nice to get off to a bit better start and kind of take the pressure off as the week goes on."

If he doesn’t manage to defend his title, rest assured there will be plenty more opportunities for Scott to engrave his name on the Joe Kirkwood Cup in the future.

"I’d like to come back every year and play."

"It may or may not always be the case, but that’s certainly my goal."

"I definitely don’t have a better place to be this week."

"This is home and like I said, last year I spent about 11 days here so any excuse is a good one for me."
