Players will be racing around the course today trying to play as many holes as possible before the predicted storm hits the area.

The worst of the rain isn’t due to arrive until after 6pm, so play should be completed today which will be a big leg up for the tournament with the forecast looking much direr for the second round.

Plenty of talented players are out in the morning field today including last year’s runner-up Ryan Fox who has been tipped by many around the club to take out the title.

Cameron Smith will be hoping his jetlag hasn’t kicked in. The 21-year-old only arrived back in the country yesterday and is teeing off at 7.05am.
