Playing his rookie season on the over-50’s
tour Craig Parry hasn’t yet produced his best golf but there were signs this
week that some good form might not be far off.
Parry opened the Principal Charity Classic
with a 4-under 68 to be inside the top-10 after 18 holes and while he followed
up with two rounds of even par to fall to T32 he will take a lot of confidence
from his week.
In his eight events to date Parry has been
beset by playing one poor round or making a big number at some point to kill
momentum but the opposite was true this week.
In the third round in particular, Parry
showed tenacity to battle back from being 3-over with six holes to play to
finish even par for the day, an indication his tournament instincts are
beginning to kick back in.
This week also marked just the second time
he has finished a tournament in red numbers and with several of the biggest
senior events coming up in the next two months he will be one to watch.
Peter Senior also teed up in Indiana but
never really got going with rounds of 71-74-72 seeing him to a T59 finish.
