"WadeOut in the first group of the European Tour tournament on Thursday morning, Ormsby set the early pace with a 5-under 65 and hovered around the top 10 for the entirety of the week, ultimately finishing tied for 19th and eight shots back of winner Jon Rahm.

He would have finished 10 shots adrift if not for an eagle 3 at the 72nd hole of the tournament, a finish that netted Ormsby an extra €15,362 ($24,717) in prize money.

His best individual result since he was tied for 14th at the Trophee Hassan II in Morocco in April, Ormsby’s top-20 finish moved him up to 76th in the Race to Dubai standings heading into this week’s Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club.

Sam Brazel was the next best of the Australians in a tie for 50th while Victorian Lucas Herbert stormed home with one of the best rounds of the day, a bogey-free 5-under 65 moving him up 11 places on the leaderboard and into a tie for 55th.
