opportunities that come your way; Tim Hart is hoping to do that this week.
Not just chasing a win last week at the Holden NZ PGA Championship, Hart also had the goal of a top-10 finish to ensure a start at the BMW ISPS HANDA New Zealand Open.
Hart was inside the mark after the first three rounds but he found it a tough challenge playing in the second last group on Sunday.
Outside the top-10 with three holes to play, Hart rallied to reel of three consecutive birdies to finish tied 10th.
"I didn’t know exactly what I needed to do, I just tried to make the putts coming in and luckily some dropped for me late in the day," said Hart.
"It was a good finish in the end, not the last day I would have liked but it was good to finish off how I did and sneak into this week."
Securing his place in Queenstown, Hart is hoping to capitalise on the opportunity, knowing that one good week can launch his career.
"That’s what is all about, opportunities for guys like myself who don’t have a full Tour card. If you keep playing well then you will get starts, hopefully I can keep it up," added Hart.
"It’s a million dollar event so this is the week where you want to put four solid rounds together, to see how high you can finish."
"My game is feeling pretty good so hopefully I can keep it up all four rounds."
Having played The Hills twice before and missing the cut both times, Hart’s record isn’t great however now a more experienced player he believes his game will stand up to the test this week.
"I have played both courses many times now, I am just going to stay relaxed, make the weekend then make a charge from there," said Hart.
"It’s the same as any other course you, have to play smart, be aggressive where you can but not too aggressive when you need to be."
"That’s pretty much the game plan I have had all year and it’s worked pretty well so far."
Whatever happens on the course, Hart is going to enjoy being back in Queenstown.
"This is the best spot of the year, I always love coming back here," added Hart
"To be honest, it’s the best place in the world I have been."
