Three Aussies are in contention heading into the final round
of the PGA TOUR China’s Sunning Estate Nanjing Zhongshan Open.
Shooting 3-under 69 on Saturday, Daniel Nisbet heads into
the final round one shot off the lead after bogeying his final hole of the day.
"I hit a bad tee shot on the last. I thought I could have
made that putt for par," said Niset.
"But it was OK. I was 3-under today. I feel that’s a good
score out on this course."
"Every hole is playing almost as long as it possibly can.
Plus it’s wet, so the ball doesn’t travel very far."
Sitting a shot further back of Nisbet and in a tie for third
after shooting 5-under the card in the third round is fellow Aussie Chris
Brown.
With the course playing so long it’s no surprise to also see
Lincoln Tighe, renowned as one of the longest hitters on Tour, in the mix.
Firing 5-under 67, Tighe took advantage on the par-5’s
making eagle at the 11th and 14th holes to place himself
in contention for the second tournament in a row on the PGA TOUR China.
Rounding out the Aussies inside the top-10 is Max McCardle.
The South Australian is four shots off the lead but in good form having already
recorded two top-10 results in China this season.
