The PGA TOUR China Series resumes this week with two Australians in excellent shape to qualify for the 2017 Web.com Tour.
Max McCardle and Rohan Blizard finished the first half of the season in June ranked fourth and fifth on the Order of Merit respectively with the top-5 at the end of the year earning status to the secondary US circuit.
Blizard has posted one win and one top-10 in his six starts for the year while McCardle has been a model of consistency with four top-10’s, two of those top-5’s, in the same number of tournaments.
The pair are among 18 Australians teeing up at this week’s Yulongwan Yunnan Open, a tournament which saw Blizard finish T10 in 2015.
James Gibellini, David McKenzie and Lincoln Tighe are the only other Australians currently inside the top-30 on the money list though McKenzie is not teeing up this week.
Tighe has played only four events for the year but has produced some scintillating scores, his T4 in June’s Lanhai Open behind Blizard his best overall result.
A lack of consistency has hurt the big hitting Tighe but he has a big opportunity to climb the rankings in the second half of the year and earn his way to America.
Also teeing up this week are Ray Beaufils, Andrew Evans, Peter Cooke, Christopher Brown, Mitch Davis, Scott Laycock, Jake Higginbottom, Alex Hawley, Daniel Nisbet, Jake Stirling, Christopher Wood, Jack Munro, David Lutterus and Peter Martin.
