Won Joon Lee has posted his first top-10 finish in more than a year with a hot final round at the co-sanctioned Panasonic Open in Japan.
Lee, who withdrew from the first two events of the Japan Tour season, fired a final round 67 at the Chiba Country Club to climb to T9 at the event which shares status on both the Asian and Japan Tours.
Rounds of 71-67-71-67 were good for a T9 finish, four birdies in his last five holes jumping him 20 places up the standings from his overnight position.
His last top-10 came at the 2016 Singapore Open where he was T8.
Lee was one of nine Australasians to start the week and one of five to make the cut, New Zealand’s Michael Hendry next best at T30 on 3-under-par.
Brendan Jones (T40), Adam Bland (T44) and Terry Pilkadaris were the others to play the weekend, Todd Sinnott, Richard Green, Brad Kennedy and Kurt Barnes all missing out.
