Jordan off to a flying start on Super Saturday

Damien Jordan has flown out of the gates in the Victorian PGA Championship’s ‘Super Saturday’.

""With the Oates Vic Open less than a week away, the Huntingdale tournament is currently in the process of playing 36 holes to crown the first Champion of the season this evening.

Jordan, who began tied fourth after the opening two rounds, got off to a quick start on his way to shooting 7-under 65.

”I got off to a flyer, I birdied 1, 2 and 3 and made good up and down on 4 and 5,” Jordan said.

“So I just tried to keep the momentum going and I birdied 9 and just rolled in to the back-9.”

With the two final rounds being played back-to-back, Jordan only has a 30 minute break before he heads out to defend his lead.

And while he holds a three shot lead, he isn’t getting too far ahead of himself with another 18 holes today.

“I’ll have a quick bite to eat and a quick hot shower then get back out there and go.

“I’m not too worried about winning just yet I can hold my head high and know that I’ve put in a good week this week.

“If I get there I get there, if I don’t it’s not the end of the world.”

PGATV is currently streaming the final round live, catch all the action from Huntingdale including live scores at pga.org.au.
