Key Quotes:
Harold Varner III, 74, 73, 66, 3-under, T1
"I think I should be able to play anywhere in the world, if you want to be an elite player. The best players in the world, they win all over, so this was another opportunity to give myself a chance somewhere else."
"It gives you an opportunity to hit drivers and I like that a lot, and if you hole putts you’re going to play well."
"That would be awesome (winning AUD$1million for a hole in one on the 16th). That’s all I was thinking about all over the golf course today, that would just make my week."
Dylan Frittelli, 70, 72, 71, 3-under, T1
"It was a good round. I was happy with the way I finished. 1-under par’s always good in tough conditions like this."
"The front 9 was consistent golf, hit a lot of greens; left myself a lot of putts and back 9 was slightly different, had a bit of a speed wobble there coming in bogey on 16 and then birdie on 17, but I was really happy with the way I played."
Zander Lombard, 67, 75, 71, 3-under, T1
"I’ve played really well today, kept it in the right spots again and just stuck it out, a few good up and downs and great chipping on 16, it was just the highlight of the day I suppose."
"There’s definitely some nerves on the first tee but as soon as I got into the game and started to go through my processes, just got back into the zone and played my best golf and it showed today."
Nathan Holman, 77, 68, 70, 1-under, 4th
"Obviously a bogey on the last is pretty disappointing. It was a tough hole today with that pin being back left and I thought I hit a good shot in there and obviously bad bounce and it ran through the green. Nice chip shot but a poor putt."
"I’ve been close a few times and I kind of got myself into some really good positions and haven’t capitalised yet but you keep doing that a number of times, you’re going to get one that’s going to work out for you, so hopefully tomorrow."
