After a heartbreaking playoff loss at the European Masters in Switzerland Scott Hend heads back to the U.S. this week to continue his pursuit of a PGA TOUR card.

Hend is one of 10 Australasians teeing up in the four tournament Web.com Finals and comes to the second event in a share of 32^nd place on the mini money list which will decide cards in three weeks’ time.

There are 25 places on the PGA TOUR up for grabs so Hend needs to move up the standings over the coming weeks if he is to play full time again in the US but he brings excellent form to the Boise Open in Idaho.

The 44-year-old will be less than pleased with his performance in extra time in Switzerland but his golf over the 72 holes of regulation was superb.

Hend is a confidence player and his good results tend to come in runs so despite the disappointment of last week it would be a surprise if he didn’t bounce back this week.

Curtis Luck is the leading Australian after one event of the Finals and at T14 on the money list has made an excellent start in his quest to gain full time access to the PGA TOUR.

The 21-year-old has proved his capabilities in limited starts on the world’s biggest stage in 2017 but there is a lot of golf to be played between now and the Web.om Tour Championship and he needs to remain focused.

A win is not beyond Luck though a top five result in any of the four tournaments will all but guarantee a place in the top-25.

He has the tools to get to the top of the game but so, too, do many others and his presence on the 2018 PGA TOUR is far from guaranteed yet.

Jamie Arnold, Rhein Gibson, Matt Jones, Cameron Percy, Brett Drewitt, Stuart Appleby, Tim Wilkinson and Steve Alker round out the Australasian contingent in Idaho with Drewitt and Percy the only others alongside Luck in the top-25 at this stage.

Both finished T31 in the first of the four events two weeks ago to be T22 on the money list while Wilkinson (T38) and Alker (T53) were the only others to make the cut in Ohio.

Matt Jones, Rhein Gibson, Jamie Arnold and Stuart Appleby have all put themselves under added pressure by failing to qualify for the weekend, all T60 on the money list with three events remaining.
