One round of golf is all that stands between Adam Scott and his first win on the PGA TOUR for the 2016 season as he co-leads the Honda Classic with Spaniard, Sergio Garcia, on 9-under.
Firing a 4-under 66, Scott entered the third round trailing Ricky Fowler by three shots before going on a birdie spree mid way through his front nine in a round that produced eight birdies.

However, it wasn’t all plain sailing for Scott who encountered the notorious Bear Trap par 3 15th and his first dropped shot in 39 holes.
After finding the water twice and requiring seven shots to get him out of trouble, Scott added a quadruple bogey to his card.
"I was trying to get a ball dry for a start and eventually did, on my fifth, I hit a good putt and it missed and unfortunately it’s a seven," said Scott
"But that’s what this course is all about, it’s going to reward great shots and punish ones that are just off, especially as you come around The Bear Trap and it got me today. Hopefully that’s out of the way and I can do a little better tomorrow."
Despite his horror run and a couple of small game errors, Scott is very happy with his game going into tomorrow’s final round.
"I’m playing great. The way I played today was beautiful. My first shot on 15 wasn’t a good shot and the wrong spot to do it. I just have to get back on it tomorrow."
Scott is making his fifth start of the 2015-16 PGA TOUR Season this week and is coming off a T2 finish at last week’s Northern Trust Open. In his first start of the season, he finished solo-second at the CIMB Classic.
Other Australians to make it to the weekend at the Honda Classic include John Senden, who carded a 1-over 71 round three to head into the final round on 2-under (T9), and Stuart Appleby who fired 3-over today and is 5-over (T60) at the end of the third round.
