Mike Harwood has jumped 14 places up the leaderboard with an impressive final round to share top Australian honours at the Paris Legends Championship.
Harwood posted a Sunday round of 1-under 71 to finish 1-over for the tournament at the difficult Le Golf National course which will host next year’s Ryder Cup.
Harwood struggled at this tournament last year with four double bogeys but avoided big numbers this year with nothing worse than a bogey on his card.
His 1-over for the week was good for a share of 14th position, the same result for Peter Fowler though he will be less pleased with his Sunday play.
After opening with back to back scores of 70, Fowler was T8 heading to the final round but slumped to a 5-over 77 to tumble down the standings.
Peter O’Malley was the only other Australian in the field but despite a 1-under final round couldn’t overcome opening scores of 75-77 and finished T36.
