Hart on the money at Wynnum

Tim Hart

Tim Hart
has etched his name into the history books alongside the likes of Peter Senior,
Jeff Senior and Vaughan Somers, becoming only the sixth player in the 37 year
history to win the Bartons/BMD Wynnum Pro-Am for a second time.

 "TimRenowned for
attracting a super star field, Wynnum Golf Club was graced with the presence of
some of Australia’s sporting superstars including former Australian Cricket
Captain Alan Border, Queensland State of Origin great Wally Lewis and
premiership winning coach of the North Queensland Cowboys Paul Green, as well
as PGA TOUR players Rod Pampling, Rhein Gibson and Cameron Smith.

However it
was Tim Hart who would shine with his name topping the leaderboard at the end
of the day.

Hart fired an
impressive 9-under 61 which included six birdies and back-to-back eagles at the
par-5 13th and par-4 14th holes.

There were
plenty of impressive scores being made with Hart claiming victory by just one
shot over Wynnum local Chris Wood, Daniel Fox and Adam Stephens, who only
gained entry into the field following a late withdrawal yesterday afternoon.

The win is
bitter sweet for Hart who missed out on competing at the Australian PGA
Championship last week, losing in a playoff for the final position last Monday
at the pre-qualifying also held at Wynnum Golf Club.

"I was really
disappointed after missing out on the Australian PGA Championship last week,
but to bounce back and put it behind me is very pleasing and possibly something
I couldn’t have achieved 12 months ago," said Hart.

The Wynnum
win caps off a breakout season for Hart who is aiming to step it up again in
2016.

"This year
has been one of my more consistent years, and I guess it’s due to the hard work
I have been putting in both on and off the golf course with my coach Richard
Woodhouse," added Hart.

"I am really
looking forward to the New South Wales PGA Championship later this week and
hopefully I can replicate the golf that I am playing at the next level."

The
Bartons/BMD Wynnum Pro-Am continues to hold the record for the largest one-day
pro-am in Australia, with a prize purse of $60,000.

The honour
board of winner’s read like a who’s who of Australian golf and includes
household names such as Michael Harwood and Andre Stolz.

The 2015
Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing will draw to a close this week,
with the final event of the season being played at Sanctuary Cove. Although Tim
Hart has all but sealed victory in the MLC Advice Nundah Order of Merit,
professionals will no doubt be looking for a timely cheque heading into the
festive season.

The Sunshine
Swing forms part of the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series which comprises of 200
events Australia wide.

Played across
more than 170 golf courses around Australia the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series
plays an important part in the development of Australia’s Professional Golfers
whilst also growing the game at a grass roots level by engaging an estimated
48,000 amateur golfers each year.
