After an injury plagued start to the season
Mathew Goggin’s game looks to be back on track as the Web.com Tour tees up for
the sixth time this season at the El Bosque Mexico Championship.

"MathewGoggin played his best golf of the year a
fortnight ago at the Servientrega Championship in Colombia, his middle two
rounds of 68-69 particularly encouraging.

Having played well at this venue before
with a T6 finish in 2013 this week could be a pivotal one for the Tasmanian who
still ranks as one of the best ball strikers in world golf.

Goggin is one of eight Australasians listed
in the field, Steve Allan, Brett Drewitt, Oliver Goss, Peter Lonard, Bryden
Macpherson and New Zealand’s Josh Geary also teeing up.

Adam Crawford is listed as an alternate and
may yet earn a start.

With the Web.com Tour now well underway all
of the Australians in the field will be looking for good results after most
endured shaky starts in the early season events played mostly in South America.

Josh Geary’s high finish last week sees him
inside the top-25 money earners but among the Australian contingent Allan is
the highest placed at 50th.

With the top-25 graduating to the PGA TOUR
at season’s end, competition is fierce even early in the season and with five
of the 21 full season events already played the clock is ticking.

Bryden Macpherson is the only other
Australian inside the top-100 (90th) with Brett Drewitt, Goggin,
Oliver Goss and Scott Gardiner all well outside.

However, one good week can change an entire
season and all will be keen to make that happen this week.

Among those less concerned with his money
list position is Peter Lonard who is playing a number of Web.com events this
year under a special category for former PGA TOUR players aged 48 and 49.

With eligibility for the Champions Tour
approaching those in that age bracket are allowed special exemptions in order
to tune up their games for the over 50’s circuit.
