Rhein Gibson will be looking to consolidate his position in the top-25 of the Web.com Tour money list after his T3 result last week put him squarely in contention to earn a PGA TOUR card.
Gibson, who vaulted to 20th on the money list with his good play in Kansas, is one of three Australians currently inside the top-25 but all need to continue playing well if they are to make it to the main TOUR in 2016.
With just 11 events left on the schedule Gibson, Mathew Goggin (19th) and Rod Pampling (8th) are the only three in the top 25 with Steve Allan on the fringe at 26th.
None are yet assured of promotion next year though Pampling is unlikely to miss out given he is inside the top-10.
While those four are playing for the major prize several of the Australians playing the secondary circuit need to step up their performance to remain on the Web.com Tour.
Oliver Goss has fallen to 64th on the money list, next best behind Steve Allan, while Bronson La’Cassie (65th), Brett Drewitt (79th), James Nitties (82nd) and Aron Price (97th) are the only others inside the top-100.
The top-75 at the end of the season have a chance to earn PGA TOUR status through the new four tournament qualifying series but those beyond that number come September are destined to play another year in the minor leagues.
Among those needing to lift are Alistair Presnell (111th), Adam Crawford (116th) and Ash Hall (119th).
All are in the field this week with the chance to kick-start a strong run to the end of the season.
