Marcus Fraser and Kalem Richardson have shared top Australian honours after both finished in the top 10 at the Indonesian Masters.
Sharing the lead through 36 holes, the two Australians were overtaken at the weekend as both struggled to keep pace with some hot scoring at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club.Fraser, who was looking to unseat Rio teammate Scott Hend at the top of the Order of Merit with a victory this week, made up some ground on the Queenslander but still trails by almost $100,000.
For Richardson the stakes were higher as the Tasmanian tries to play his way into the top 60 earners and retain his playing rights for 2017.
His cheque for $15,459 was easily his biggest of the year and moves him to 72nd on the earnings table with five full field events remaining in the season. Also making a move up the Order of Merit this week was Asian Tour veteran Scott Barr who finished one shot behind Fraser and Richardson and T12.
He picked up $10,943 for his efforts and moved to 60th position on the standings.
In all, 14 Australians teed up in the event with seven making the cut.Darren Tan (T50) was next best behind Barr with Terry Pilkadaris (T52) and Marcus Both and Adam Groom (T63) the Australians who played the weekend.
