Ryan Fox leads a strong Australasian contingent at this week’s Czech Masters, with the New Zealander stepping up to the main Tour courtesy of his recent win in France.
Fox is one of five Australasians in the field, alongside last week’s runners-up Terry Pilkadaris and Daniel Gaunt seeking to go one better while Nathan Holman receives a sponsor’s invitation and Jason Scrivener tries to build on his best result of the year last week.
With many of the Tour’s biggest stars are in America for the start of the FedEx Cup play-offs this week the Czech Masters offers a great opportunity for some of the lesser lights to shine.
While Fox is one of the hottest golfers on the planet at the moment the week shapes as a good one for the contingent with all showing recent good form.
Pilkadaris’ narrow miss at last week’s Made in Denmark tournament will have him motivated to make amends while Daniel Gaunt, who shared second with the West Australian, produced one of the rounds of the day Sunday to vault up the leader board.
Also playing with confidence is Jason Scrivener who posted his second best result of the year last week and his best on European soil.
Scrivener’s year began with great promise when he finished T11 at the South African Open in January but he has struggled to find his feet since and is yet to post a top-10.
Nathan Holman will also be looking to make the most of his opportunity this week after earning a sponsor’s exemption.
This will be the Victorian’s sixth start on the European Tour despite not having status and he has been impressive I those appearances with just one missed cut.
Another solid performance this week would go a long way to securing further invites and possibly even a card for next season.
