With his third top-5 finish in his last six starts Peter Fowler continues to prove himself Australia’s best over 50’s player on the European circuit.

The evergreen 56-year-old posted a T4 result at this week’s Travis Perkins Masters in England, his fifth top-10 in nine starts for the season and best of the Australians for the fifth time this season.

Rounds of 72-68-73 saw Fowler finish five shots behind eventual winner Andre Bossert of Switzerland who claimed his first Senior title.

Peter O’Malley continued his improved play from last week with a second top-10 result.

O’Malley finished the week 1-over-par and T10 with scores of 69-74-74.

Mike Harwood, the form player among the Australians coming into the week, couldn’t maintain the momentum of recent weeks as he struggled to a first round 76.

A second round 77 wasn’t what he was looking for but he redeemed himself somewhat in the final round with a 1-under-par 71 to climb 10 spots up the leaderboard to T33.
