Rain was present all day and patience was essential for victory in the tough conditions.
Andrew Evans proved too good with 4-under 68. Evans was the model of consistency only recording one bogey on a testing day.
“This golf course could hold a major championship it’s that good. Justin the Course Superintendent and his team should be congratulated the course held up despite the rain and was in great condition," said Evans.
Only one shot back with a fine score himself was Alex Edge who shot 3-under 69.
In third position was Aaron Townsend with 2-under 70.
Rounding out the top five was Dean O’Connell and Leigh McKechnie with 1-under 71.
