A change
of equipment over the off season is keeping Victor Dubuisson guessing out there
on the course but he says he is feeling more confident in the lead up to the
ISPS HANDA Perth International this week.

Dubuisson,
the 2014 ISPS HANDA Perth International runner-up, made the switch to
TaylorMade at the start of this year and is still working on finding his rhythm
with the new equipment.

"I always
wanted to try TaylorMade.  I think
that they have really improved their equipment and I’ve heard a lot about the
driver.  I tried it, and I really
improved my distance, by like 15, 20 yards.  So, it makes a big difference," Dubuisson said.

The
Frenchman opted to return home after playing one tournament in Abu Dhabi at the
start of the season to work on his club setup rather than continue to learn on
the road.

"It takes
some time (to get used to new equipment) and that’s why I didn’t want to play
tournaments and maybe lose the confidence.  I just prefer to prepare at home and really find the right
setting on my clubs before I will start the season," Dubuisson said.

While
Dubuisson says he is now feeling good he also admits it will take a few more months
to get used to playing with TaylorMade.

"I’m okay
with driver, 3‑woods and irons, now it’s more about the new ball and wedging,
matching the speed and the distance and on wedging," Dubuisson said

"For
example, on the Titleist ball, I have more spin than on a TaylorMade ball…but I
have a more consistent distance (with the TaylorMade)," he continued.

Returning
to Perth following such a good result on his last visit here Dubuisson was
pleased to find the course still playing in a very similar condition.

"I always
like to come back to play tournaments where I had a great result, I came close
two years ago, so you always want to try to make better and win," Dubuisson
said.

"The
course is ‑‑ I played today and it’s not easy at all.  We know it’s a tricky course.  Greens are not easy to read.  You know you really have to hit the
ball straight from the tee.  So
it’s always a tough challenge this course," he continued.

Dubuisson
will tee off with Peter Uihlein (USA) and Marcus Fraser (AUS) at midday on
Thursday.

The ISPS HANDA Perth
International is being held at the Lake Karrinyup Country Club from Thursday 25
– Sunday 28 February.  Tickets can be purchased TicketMaster or at the
