Jason Day will enter the final round of The Barclays tied for the lead after a solid third round by Australia’s news Major champion.
In his quest for a FedExCup win, Day fired a 7-under 63 with his only setback coming on his second last hole, making bogey on the par 4 17th, but followed up quickly by making a 16 metre chip from the rough to set up a 3 metre putt for birdie on the par 4 18th.
Joining Day at the top of the leaderboard on 11-under is South Korea’s Sangmoon Bae who went shot-for-shot with Day.
"It was good, Sangmoon got off to a hot start and I just followed in his footsteps," said Day after his round.
"It was a good solid day out there today from tee to green and I got hot with the putter a little bit, not as much as Sangmoon, he held a couple of bombs out there, but it was good, it was fun. To be able to draft off each other like that is good, it’s key, especially in third rounds to shoot yourself up the leaderboard."
Bae, who is due to enter mandatory military service back home, will be searching hard for a win this week having not won on the TOUR since the Frys.com Open last year.
Bubba Watson is a further shot back from the pair on 10-under, followed by Ryan Palmer on 9-under.
A victory tomorrow would see Day secure his fourth win of the season, equalling Jordan Spieth for wins this year, and join the race for World Number 1.
"I feel good about my game right now, I’ve just got to be patient tomorrow and just let it unfold itself and don’t really try and chase it," added Day.
Day currently sits second on the FedExCup Standings, a win this week would see him move to number one and well placed to become the first Australian to win the FedEx Cup.
Adam Scott is the only Australian Professional to have won The Barclays since it was introduced in 2007.
Day and Bae will tee off at 2:00pm local time.
