""A question mark loomed over Day’s Masters participation after the Queenslander announced an indefinite break from the game to be by his mother’s side during her battle with lung cancer.

Since withdrawing from the WGC – Dell Matchplay, Day has been at home in Ohio while his mother Dening Day recuperated from surgery and has started chemotherapy treatment.

With Dening resting at home in the care of Ali Day, the World Number 3 headed to Augusta National and has been practicing since Friday.

Day heads up the five strong Australian contingent which also includes Adam Scott, Marc Leishman, Rod Pampling and amateur Curtis Luck.

According to Golf Australia Magazine editor Brendan James, who is onsite at Augusta National all week, Day played a practise round with Luck on Friday before working with PGA professional coach Col Swatton and playing the back-9 on Saturday followed by the front-9 on Sunday.
