Cullen looking for a big finish

With just two chances left to push his way into the Challenge Tour’s season ending Grand Final Nick Cullen will be looking for his best form this week when he tees up in the Foshan Open in China.

""The South Australian played just two events on the secondary Tour’s schedule in the early part of the season but after posting three straight top-10 in July and September has teed up almost every week.

Though he has only played eight events he has amassed enough points on the season long Road to Oman table to be just outside the top-45 who will qualify for the Grand Final in early November.

At 51st on the list he is within reach of being part of that field while also ensuring he has full playing rights again next year should he not gain entry to the European Tour.

Cullen and Ryan Fox are the only Australasian representatives this week, Daniel Gaunt listed as an alternate but not earning a place in the field.

Fox, too, has plenty to play for at the other end of the Road to Oman standings where he currently occupies fourth position.

The leader at the end of the season receives a fully exempt card to the European Tour and the New Zealander would dearly love to grab that spot.

He will need to produce his best golf, and likely also rely on others ahead not to play their best, but has been in good recent form.

While he missed the cut at the weather shortened Hainan Open last week he was T4 at the Tour’s richest event in Kazakhstan a fortnight ago.
