Seven Australians take their place in this
week’s Indonesian Open on the Asian Tour, one of just two full field events
left for the 2017 Tour cards to be decided.
The top-60 money earners retain playing
privileges in Asia with veteran Scott Barr and Tasmania’s Kalem Richardson on
the bubble as the season draws to a close.
Barr sits at 65th while
Richardson is 68th, both desperate to produce their best golf this
week and at the Indian Open in two weeks’ time to avoid a trip to Q-School.
Barr secured the final card for 2016 with a
strong performance at the final event last year and may need to do the same
again with two of the Tour’s smaller purses on offer in the coming weeks.
The now Singapore resident is US$8,000
behind current 60th place holder Mardan Mamat while Richardson
trails by US$16,000.
Also teeing up this week are Sam Brazel,
Terry Pilkadaris, Adam Groom, Unho Park and Marcus Both.
Brazel and Pilkadaris are safely inside the
top-60 but the other three would all require a victory to make the grade.
