The golf played on course matched that of the conditions, with Kevin Conlong making up a four shot deficit to claim his maiden victory on the Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series Sunshine Swing.

Callan O’Reilly and Kieran Muir finished one shot behind Conlong, but Muir will be the one that will feel the most disappointed, taking a double bogey six on his second last hole.

"It’s great to get a win in the PCR Polyweld Mining Town Series events, especially when you consider the quality of fields that have been playing," said Conlong.

"I have felt really good on the course over the past few weeks, and I can’t describe how excited I am to have my first win in Queensland. Hopefully I can keep this form going heading into the weekend at Dysart."

Professionals will now make their way to the On-Site Rentals Dysart Pro-Am on Saturday, where the winner of the PCR Polyweld Mining Town Series will be crowned with Marcus Cain stretching his lead out to three shots over Tim Hart.

More importantly though, the top 25 professionals from the PCR Polyweld Mining Town Series will be decided and earn their ticket to play the $35,000 The Pines Capricorn Coast Invitational next week.
