Jason Day might have just won his first Major, but he is also preparing for another significant milestone this year – the birth of his and wife Ellie’s second child.

""The birth of a child is always a special time and in a candid interview with the PGA, Day opens up about the way in which becoming a Dad transformed him, for the better, both on an off the course.

"Fatherhood has changed the way that I view things in life as well as how I view things on the golf course," said Day.

"I’ve changed so much. The stuff I use to get angry or frustrated with before it’s definitely mellowed and I think that’s a good thing for me, especially on the golf course."

"It was very difficult for me at the start, it was tough."

"Being a golfer we’re so selfish with our time, so selfish with what we need to do to stay competitive and still try and compete and play as a golfer on the Tour."

"But since having Dash and understanding what my role is as a Dad while trying to balance golf and family life has really helped."

"The first six months were hard, there’s no real way to prepare yourself for having a child other than getting thrown in the deep end pretty quick."
