Peter Fowler and Peter Senior faced one of
the toughest tests on the over-50’s circuit when the Senior Players
Championship was played at the prestigious Philadelphia Cricket Club at the
weekend.
The third major on the senior circuit, not
a single player finished under par after 72 holes with Bernhard Langer taking
the title for the third consecutive year at 1-over.
Fowler found the going difficult in the
first and last rounds with bookend 77’s but posted respectable scores of 68-72
on Friday and Saturday.
For Senior, though it was a grind from the
start. The 56-year-old battled to a 76 in the opening round and followed that
with scores of 74-75-75 to be near the tail end of the field.
