Scott Hend and Marcus Fraser are ready to take on the title of Australian Olympians as they make history in the Men’s Individual Stroke Play event, which is scheduled to air in Australia tonight.
With both Professionals performing exceptionally well on the world stage this year, we take a look at their history as they prepare to tee off in Rio.

After a distinguished amateur career, Marcus Fraser Turned Professional in 2002 and instantly made his way to the European Tour’s second tier Challenge Tour. Within 12-months Fraser raked up three tournament victories, including the Russian Open, which secured his card on the main European Tour.
Since then, Fraser has maintained his playing status and has regularly finished inside the top-120 on the Order of Merit; his best place coming in 2012 when he finished 25th. A three-time winner on the European Tour, Fraser has played in over 200 events and in 2016 won the inaugural Maybank
Championship; his first victory in six years.
Having played 14 tournaments on the European Tour’s schedule this year, Fraser’s best finish from his last three starts was BMW International Open where he fired 5-under the card to finish T21. After his Maybank Championship victory and a T2 finish at the Panasonic Open Golf Championship, Fraser currently
holds top spot on the Asian Tour’s Order of Order of Merit. On top of this, Fraser played the The Open and the PGA Championship this year; making the cut in the later to finish T73.

Scott Hend turned Professional in 1997 after graduating from the PGA Trainee Program, which he completed at at Hyatt Coolum and Nudgee Golf Club. He started his playing career on the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia where he secured three wins on home soil.
Since this time, Hend has teed it up on most other world tours. In 2004 and 2005, Hend played on the PGA TOUR after gaining his card through Qualifying School and at the time was considered one of the longest international hitters on the TOUR.
Hend has spent a number of years playing on the Asian Tour, with his first victory coming in 2008 at the Indonesia President Invitational before going on to claim another eight victories over eight years. He is also a two-time winner on the European Tour, securing victories at the Hong Kong Open in
2014 and the True Thailand Classic this year. Both tournaments were co-sanctioned with the Asian Tour and see Hend 3rd on the Tour’s Order of Merit. Last month’s PGA Championship was Hend’s best finish from his last three starts. Firing rounds of 68, 70, 68, 72, Hend finished the week on 2-under the
card and T24.
