After a slow start to his rookie season on the Web.com Tour Jamie Arnold has found his feet in recent weeks and will be keen for more success at this week’s BMW Charity Pro-Am.
Arnold has made the cut in each of his last two events posting a career best T16 finish a fortnight ago in the Dominican Republic.
With the secondary Tour having a week off during last week’s PLAYERS Championship o the main circuit, Arnold will be fresh and ready to go when the gun goes off in South Carolina.
Arnold is one of seven Australians in this week’s field including former winner Nick Flanagan whose past champion status earns him a start.
The former US Amateur champions played the 2015 season on a medical exemption but failed to keep his card and played only once in 2016, at this event.
Also in the field this week are Steve Allan, Rhein Gibson, Mathew Goggin, Mark Hensby and Bryden Macpherson.
Macpherson, who lost his card at the end of last year’s Web.com Tour season, has received a sponsor’s invite to play this week and will be hoping to make the most of it as he has little status anywhere in the world.
Goggin, too, needs to make the most of his opportunities as he is playing on limited status in 2017 after a difficult 2016 season.
Plagued by a wrist injury for much of the year he underwent surgery over the Australian summer and is now hoping to play his way back to the Tour.
For regulars Steve Allan and Rhein Gibson every week is about trying to climb the money list standings with both currently outside the top 50.
