Arnold looking to back up

After a breakout victory at last week’s Cordon Open in France, Scott Arnold will be among the favourites this week when the Challenge Tour moves to Kazakhstan.

"ScottArnold, who has moved to 18th on the Order of Merit, joins Ryan Fox, Terry Pilkadaris and Geoff Drakeford in the field for the Kazakhstan Open.

With just three full field events remaining after this week, Arnold will be keen to ride his current wave of form to some high finishes and a place in the top-15 which guarantees promotion to the European Tour next season.

Having played the main Tour in 2013 as a Q-School graduate but losing his card, the former World Number One amateur will be looking to get back to the bigger stage a more experienced, and better, player.

Also with plenty to play for in coming weeks are veteran Terry Pilkadaris and rookie Geoff Drakeford.

The top-45 on the Order of Merit at season’s end are guaranteed playing rights for next year and at 50th and 57th respectively both are close to achieving that goal.

While he has missed just three cuts in 10 starts Pilkadaris has struggled to post top-10 finishes this year.

For Drakeford it has been a good Professional debut with five starts under his belt and some impressive golf so far.

A runner-up finish in his third Challenge Tour event has been the highlight but he comes to Kazakhstan off back-to-back missed cuts and needing to find form quickly.
