New South Welshman Jamie Arnold will have the spectacular Rocky Mountains as an inspirational backdrop when he sets out to record his maiden Korn Ferry Tour title at the TPC Colorado Championship at Heron Lakes.

Measuring just nine yards shy of an incredible 8,000 yards, TPC Colorado boasts a par-5 maxing out at 773 yards that even in the thin mountain air will test the limitations of the longest hitters on tour.

Arnold enters the inaugural TPC Colorado Championship riding the momentum of his best result of the year last week, a tie for sixth at the LECOM Health Challenge that could have been even better.

Tied for second entering the final round, Arnold’s closing 18 holes featured four birdies and a costly double-bogey at the par-5 seventh, two shots all that separated him from featuring in a playoff.

In 72 starts on the US secondary tour Arnold is yet to finish inside the top three but will do his chances of earning a PGA TOUR card in 2020 no end of good if he can achieve that feat this week.

Currently ninth in the Order of Merit, Rhein Gibson can further entrench himself in the top 25 with a strong week with Brett Drewitt, Brett Coletta, Cameron Percy and New Zealand’s Nick Voke also teeing it up.

Following his runner-up finish last week Ryan Ruffels is again teeing it up on the Mackenzie Tour in Canada this week, off in the first group of the day in the Osprey Valley Open at TPC Toronto at Osprey Valley.

Joining Ruffels in the field is Mackenzie Tour regular Ruben Sondjaja who will be eager to bounce back after missing his past four cuts.
