Stuart Appleby earned valuable FedEx Cup points in finishing top Australian at the McGladrey Classic on the PGA TOUR this week.
The Victorian was languishing in 99th
position coming into the week but a T22 result has vaulted him up to 69th
after three weeks of the 2014/15 schedule.
Appleby was one of four Australians in the
field joined by Robert Allenby, Aaron Baddeley and Web.com Tour graduate
Cameron Percy.
Allenby finished two shots behind Appleby
and T41 as he looks to improve on last year’s performance where he finished 125th
in FedEx Cup points and claimed the last available card for the season.
At 28th on the list Allenby is
the second highest ranked Australian behind Steven Bowditch whose runner-up
finish at the season opening Fry’s.com Open has him 5th on the list.
Aaron Baddeley finished T48 this week to be
34th in FedEx Cup points while Cameron Percy was T63 to be 57th
on the points list.
