Adam Blyth has won the South Pacific Open Championship at
Tina Golf Course today following a playoff.
72 holes of championship golf could not separate
Queenslanders Adam Blyth and Jake McLeod who finished regulation play tied on
12-under 272.
Heading to a playoff it took three trips down the 18th
for Blyth to emerge victorious.
Firing even par in the final round, Blyth earned his place
in extra time.
Normally known as a top vacation spot, it was a hard day in
the Noumea office, with high temperatures and strong winds making scoring a
battle.
However, Blyth, ground it out to win his first ISPS HANDA
PGA Tour of Australasia victory and second as a Pro after he also won on the
Web.com Tour in 2011.
For this win Blyth picks up the winner’s cheque of AU$21,000,
status on the Tour until the end of the 2017 season and Official World Golf
Ranking points.
More to come.
