With many Tour Pros
teeing it up, between competing in the South Pacific Open and Fiji
International, it was no surprise to see Steven Jeffress and Deyen Lawson walk
away with the win.
Starting the final
round in a tie for the lead with two other players, Jeffress and Lawson couldn’t
be separated each shooting rounds of 68, 67 to share the honours.
Jeffress was solid
over the two days and looked like he would be the outright winner, before Lawson,
who recorded a top-10 finish at the South Pacific Open, rolled in a 10 foot
birdie putt on his final hole to tie Jeffress on 7-under the card.
A regular competitor
in Port Macquarie, Jeffress was pleased to final walk away with a win.
"I have found this
event a tough one in the past. Each time I return it’s like a homecoming,
catching up with everyone is great, but this year I really needed to focus,"
said Jeffress.
"It’s a great field
and I had to play some of my best golf to win."
Dale Brandt-Richards,
who was one of the overnight co-leaders, fired two consecutive 68’s to finish
outright third on 6-under 136.
Jamie Hook finished fourth with scores of 71,66 for a 5 under 137. His 66 in
the final round was the low score for the tournament.
Rounding out the top-5
was Dimitrios Papadatos with scores of 70 and 68 for a 4-under 138.
