Lee and Fox hoping to represent New Zealand in the future

Danny Lee and Ryan Fox, New Zealand’s top-2 men in the

Danny Lee and Ryan Fox, New Zealand’s top-2 men in the
world, are hoping that the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf is the start of a long
and successful partnership.

"DannyAfter representing New Zealand at the 2016 Rio Olympics, Lee
was quick to select Fox as his partner at Kingston Heath Golf Club this week.

The pair combined to shoot 10-under the card this week to
finish tied 11th at the ISPS HANDA World Cup of Golf.

"It was a really enjoyable week and hopefully we can team up again
in the future," said Fox.

"I think we match well, I really enjoyed Ryan’s company and he’s a good guy and
great golfer and I think we’re going to have fun next week," added Lee.

However it wasn’t all smooth sailing in the final round, Lee
was unimpressed by his performance with the pair shooting 5-under 67.

"I don’t know what to say right now, my head is completely
blank.  I’m just not happy with my round
today," added Lee.

"I kind of struggled with my putting today.  We could have been easily 13, 14 under or who
knows.  If we got it going early in the
round we might have had a much better momentum going into the back nine."

With Fox further explaining, "As Danny said, we probably had
three out of the four days the putts didn’t roll in as we would have liked
other than sort of Friday, we holed a lot then."

While the result perhaps wasn’t what the New Zealand team
was hoping for, the pair both sung the praises of Kingston Heath Golf Club.

"It’s obviously one of the best in Australia if not one of
the best in the world.  I really enjoyed
Kingston Heath, it’s just unbelievable.
Great layout, great condition," said Fox.

"It was a really good golf course.
What Ryan just said, I’ll double that," added Lee.

"A lot of the courses these days, you have to be able to hit it
really far off the tee to shoot a low number, but seems like this course you
don’t have to hit driver every hole to shoot low numbers out there, you’ve just
got to put your tee ball into a good position for second
shots and you’ve just got to putt it well out here.  I really enjoyed playing here."

Ryan Fox
and Danny Lee will now travel with the ISPS HANDA PGA Tour of Australasia and
European Tour to the Australian PGA Championship to be played at RACV Royal
Pines Resort on the Gold Coast from 1-4 December.
