The unusual format for the event, one of the richest on the Japan circuit, sees rounds one and two played this week with the final two rounds played next month.
Six Australasians are in the field with Lee, Hendry and Kennedy playing yesterday and Matt Griffin, David Smail and David Bransdon to play today.
Lee overcame Han Lee on the 26th hole while Hendry accounted for Yosuke Asaji 1up, Kennedy beaten 4&2 by Shintaro Kai.
Today’s matches will see Bransdon play Katsunori Kuwabara while Matt Griffin plays Chan Kim and David Smail meets Akio Sadakta.
The final two rounds of the event will be played in September.
