With many of Australia’s global players heading to this week’s Fiji International it is a smaller than normal contingent teeing up on the China Golf Tour and Bryden Macpherson is the best credentialed among them.

""The three-time winner in China is currently second to Korea’s Rak Hyun Cho on the Order of Merit but after making up some ground last week will be keen to keep going at the Citic Jialize Sports Club in Yunnan.

Cho and Macpherson have won three of the four tournaments played this season, Cho taking two and Macpherson claiming a third in a play-off over the Korean.

With Cho a handy AU$42,000 ahead, Macpherson will be keen to grab as much of the AU$260,000 purse as possible as the pair attempt to increase their lead over third placed Josh Geary of New Zealand.

Geary won last week’s tournament to take third place but will not play this week, instead teeing up in Fiji.

Macpherson is one of eight Australasians playing this week, Austin Batista, Corey Hale, Maverick Antcliff, Peter Martin, Juchul Jung, Kevin Yuan and New Zealanders Fraser Wilkin and Mathew Perry also in the field.
