A challenging day presented for professionals playing in the 38th Howeston Pro-Am at the Howeston Golf Course. The strong blustery winds at times felt gale force which made for extremely difficult scoring conditions.

Brisbane based professional Daniel McGraw has shot a 2-under par 69 to claim the Howeston Pro-Am by one shot over Gold Coast based professional Cory Crawford who carded a 1-under par 70.

“I knew it was going to be a tough day in the wind, “said McGraw. “It’s very easy to find trouble on this course, so my plan was just to try and keep the ball in play.”

The 29 year old carded four birdies on the 3rd, 8th, 11th and 12th holes with just the two bogey’s coming at the 2nd and 18th holes.

“The highlight of the round was the 5 iron I hit into the 11th hole which finished 2 inches from the hole. I managed a great save on the 16th hole where I made a 10 foot putt down the hill to make par”.

Finishing in a tie for 3rd place were professionals Ryan Haller and Josh Cabban who both finished on even par for the day.

The next stop on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series is the Virginia Golf Club for the Breakas Resorts Vanuatu Virginia Pro-Am where Play begins at 7am tomorrow Friday 15th September.
