Jason Norris heads back to familiar surrounds on the Asian Tour this week when he tees up at the Taiwan Masters courtesy of his Fiji International victory last month.
Norris earned exemption to both the Asian and European Tours with his emotional win and takes advantage of the Asian Tour component for the first time this week.
The popular 44-year-old returns from three consecutive weeks in Europe to tee up at the Taiwan Golf and Country Club, his whirlwind recent schedule seeing him struggle for form in his debut on the continent.
However, Norris is in more familiar surrounds this week and the confidence he gained from his play in Fiji will likely be on full display in a field featuring less depth than those he faced in Europe.
Norris is one of four Australians to make the trip to Chinese Taipei for the event, Terry Pilkadaris, Jake Higginbottom and Marcus Both also in the field.
While Norris’ playing future is secure as a tournament winner Pilkadris (44th) and Higginbottom (57th) are both in precarious positions on the Order of Merit.
The top 60 retain playing cards for next season but with only five full field events left on the schedule some good play this week would go a long way towards securing privileges.
Marcus Both has endured a difficult 2017 and is presently outside the top 120 on the Order of Merit and needs something special in the coming weeks to secure his future.
