The annual Monty Conderman Memorial Grafton Pro-Am attracted a strong field of golf Professionals for this year’s event.

Dark storm clouds loomed as play got under way this morning but Paul Hayden wasn’t going to be distracted from shooting a fine 7- under par 65 to claim victory by one shot.

Brisbane based Professional Hayden’s round consisted of one bogey and eight birdies including 2^nd, 5^th, 7^th holes to complete the front nine in 33, further birdies on the 11^th, 13^th, 14^th and 16^th holes for a closing back nine total of 32.

“My game today was how golf should be played, just really steady,” said Hayden.

“I felt so confident with my short game today; every time I had a wedge in my hand I hit inside 10 feet and made the putt for birdie."

Professionals Ryan Haller and Andrew Campbell shared second place after fine rounds of 6 – under par 66.

The next stop on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series is the Crowe Horwath Yamba Pro-Am played 7-8 October at the Yamba Golf Club.
