The annual Monty Conderman Memorial Grafton Pro-Am attracted a strong field of golf Professionals for this year’s event.

""Dark storm clouds loomed as play got under way this morning but Paul Hayden wasn’t going to be distracted from shooting a fine 7- under par 65 to claim victory by one shot.

Brisbane based Professional Hayden’s round consisted of one bogey and eight birdies including 2nd, 5th, 7th holes to complete the front nine in 33, further birdies on the 11th, 13th, 14th and 16th holes for a closing back nine total of 32.

“My game today was how golf should be played, just really steady,” said Hayden.

“I felt so confident with my short game today; every time I had a wedge in my hand I hit inside 10 feet and made the putt for birdie."

Professionals Ryan Haller and Andrew Campbell shared second place after fine rounds of 6 – under par 66.

The next stop on the Ladbrokes PGA Pro-Am Series is the Crowe Horwath Yamba Pro-Am played 7-8 October at the Yamba Golf Club.
